Former Florida Panthers right wing Jaromir Jagr has signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the Calgary Flames. He has been a free agent since July 1 when the Panthers did not resign him.
Jagr played the last three seasons with Florida. He was acquired by the team from the New Jersey Devils in a trade back in February 2015.
He helped the Panthers win the 2015-16 Atlantic Division title. Jagr climbed the NHL milestone chart in goals, assists, points, power-play goals and game played in his tenure with Florida. He had 16 goals and 30 assists in 82 games last season with the Cats.
Jagr is a five-time Art Ross Trophy winner for most points in a season and has won the Hart Memorial Trophy for most valuable player once. He is second all-time behind Wayne Gretzky with 1,914 points. He has 765 goals and 1,149 assists in 1,711 NHL games played.
