The Forest Hill Falcons head to Boca Raton and face the Olympic Heights Lions at Corey Lewis Stadium on Thursday night. Both schools are trying to finish first in District 13 and got an automatic spot in the FHSAA Class 7A playoffs.
Forest Hill(5-1, 2-1), who got off to their best start since 1985, were unbeaten in their first five games of regular season until they lost to Dwyer 42-22 last week. The Falcons averaged 36 points in their first four contests this year. They had victories over Suncoast, Santaluces, West Boca Raton, Royal Palm Beach and Jupiter.
Quarterback Darius McClendon leads the Falcons on offense and can depend on running backs Chaz Eaton, Bryon Jones and Ryan Edwards to carry the ball. Wide receivers Carlos Diaz and Deshon Simans are expected to make receptions from McClendon.
Olympic Heights(3-3, 2-1) followed a season opener loss to Boynton Beach with wins over Spanish River, Dwyer and West Boca Raton. They have fallen to Vero Beach and Palm Beach Lakes in their last two games.
The Lions have James Micioni at quarterback along with running back Reis Clark in the backfield. Micioni looks to connect passes for OH to wide receivers Michael Ippolito, Keyshawn Simmons, Jack Coulson and Shane Ellis.
