The Miami Marlins finished their three-game series in Milwaukee, where they were designated as the home team due to Hurricane Irma, and lost to the Brewers 10-3 on Sunday. The Marlins have lost seven of eight games and 17 of their last 20 games.
Just about all of the scoring in the contest happened in the fourth inning. Milwaukee(79-70) compiled eight runs in the top of the frame. Manny Pina drove in Travis Shaw with a base hit to center, then Hernan Perez placed an infield single for Jesus Aguilar to score. Domingo Santana would clear the bases with a three-run double to deep center field that scored Manny Pina, Brandon Woodruff and Perez.
Shaw made it 4-0 as he knocked in Santana on a single into center. Aguilar followed with a base hit to left field which brought in Ryan Braun. Pina capped the eight-run spurt with a single to left field for Shaw to score.
Miami(69-80) responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Derek Dietrich hooked a single to right field and Marcell Ozuna crossed the plate. Ichiro Suzuki later hit a two-run double into left field that scored Justin Bour and Dietrich.
