The Miami Marlins ended a five-game losing streak with a 7-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves at SunTrust Park on Friday night. It was the second game of a four-game series between both clubs.
The Marlins mounted an attack during the top of the second. Miguel Rojas drove in Justin Bour with a base hit through the right side of the infield. Jose Urena followed with a single to right-center field which scored Ichiro Suzuki.
Derek Dietrich expanded the Miami(68-73) lead in the third inning. He connected on a 1-1 pitch to right field for his 10th home run of the year.
In the fourth inning, Atlanta(62-78) broke the shutout. Freddie Freeman smashed a solo homer on a 3-1 count for his 25th home run of the season.
The Fish compiled four more runs in the ninth inning to put the contest away. Rojas drove in Ichiro on a double to deep center. Rojas eventually scored on a base hit by Dee Gordon into center field. Tyler Moore later lined a single into right field for Giancarlo Stanton and Gordon to score.
