The Miami Marlins fell to the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1 in 12 innings at Marlins Park on Sunday. The Fish have lost six of their last seven games.
Both clubs were able to score one run in the fifth inning. Cesar Hernandez knocked in Cameron Perkins with a single into shallow left-center field for a 1-0 Philadelphia(52-84) lead.
Miami(67-69) responded and tied it up in the bottom of the frame. Brian Anderson led off with a double and eventually scored on a wild pitch with Miguel Rojas at-bat.
The Phillies regained the lead in the 12th inning. Nick Williams connected with a base hit to right field for Ricardo Pinto and Hernandez to cross the plate.
