The Florida Panthers have dealt defenseman Jason Demers to the Arizona Coyotes for forward Jamie McGinn. Demers joined the Panthers as a free agent prior to the start of the 2016-17 season and he had nine goals along with 19 assists in 81 games for his lone season with Florida.
McGinn played last season with the Coyotes and compiled nine goals and eight assists in 72 games. He previously has been with the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Buffalo Sabres and Anaheim Ducks during his nine-year NHL career.
