Dwyer At Palm Beach Gardens Preview

The crosstown rivals battle it out in North Palm Beach County as the Dwyer Panthers head four miles south on Military Trail and face the Palm Beach Gardens Gators Friday night. The Panthers, who came back in the fourth quarter at home last year to beat the Gators 12-7, have won the last eight meetings between both schools.
Dwyer(1-1) opened the season with a 22-15 overtime victory on the road against Park Vista. They returned home and were edge by Atlantic 21-12 in Week 2.
After the season-ending injury to safety Cameron Jonas prior to the start of the season, the team returns no starters on defense from last season. Quarterback Trevor Omans calls the signals for the Panthers on offense. Dwyer has a combination of running backs Reggie Gasden and Cedric Tucker in the backfield. Omans looks to connect with wide receivers Derrick Smith, Cephus Smith, Zephanijah Fletcher and Andrew Kasten.
Palm Beach Gardens(2-0) were dominate in their first two games of the season as they outscored their opponents 96-7. They went to John I. Leonard and smashed the Lancers 55-7 in Week 1 and shut out Royal Palm Beach at home during the following week 41-0.
The Gators defense is led by safety and special teams return specialist Gurvan Hall. He transferred over from Palm Beach Lakes and helped the Rams finish as a district runner-up to Dwyer last season. Palm Beach Gardens have both Chris Sancilio and David Studstill at the quarterback position. Wide receivers Deonte Cooley, Armani Hayes, Jake Hockenson and Ponce Hollowell will try to get open down the field. Running backs Kevon Purnell and Pedro Epps are expected to get their share of carries.
