Nationals Break Away From Marlins

     The Washington Nationals put more space between them and the Miami Marlins in the division with a 7-2 victory at Marlins Park on Monday. The Marlins have dropped seven of their last eight games and now are behind the Nats in the National League East by 16 games.
     In the first inning, Miami(67-70) jumped up to a 1-0 lead. Christian Yelich grounded out for Dee Gordon to score.  
     Washington(83-54) took the lead 2-1 in the top of the second. Anthony Rendon smashed a two-run homer to left-center field and Ryan Zimmerman scored in front of him.
     The Nationals moved ahead for a two-run margin in the third inning. Daniel Murphy cracked a solo home run to right field.
     The Fish bounced back in the bottom of the fifth inning. Giancarlo Stanton came up a blasted his 53rd home run of the season down the right-field line.
     The Nationals expanded the gap with 4 runs in the top of the seventh for a 7-2 lead. Murphy slapped a ground-rule double over the left-center field wall which scored Raudy Read and Trea Turner. Two batters later, Rendon hit a double down the left-field line and Howie Kendrick along with Murphy crossed the plate.
