Former South Florida high school kicker Cody Parkey has been claimed by the Miami Dolphins. He was released by the Cleveland Browns on Saturday after one season with the club. He went 20 for 25 on field goals and make 20 of 21 extra points last season with the Browns.
Parkey played high school football with the Jupiter Warriors where he was a kicker and punter. He moved on to Auburn University and the Tigers lost in the final minute of the 2013 BCS National Championship game to Florida State.
He was picked up by the Indianapolis Colts in May 2014 as an undrafted free agent and was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles prior to the 2014 regular season. Parkey played two seasons with the Eagles and set the NFL points record for a rookie in 2014 with 150 points.
