The Miami Marlins were shut out by the Colorado Rockies 6-0 at Coors Field on Tuesday night. Miami(74-83) play their final road game of the regular season on Wednesday.
Colorado(85-73) steamrolled over the Marlins in the first inning with four runs. Carlos Gonzalez grounded into a double play for Charlie Blackmon to score and made it 1-0. Three batters later, Trevor Story crushed a three-run homer to right field on a 3-2 pitch. Nolan Arenado and Mark Reynolds both scored on that play.
The Rockies placed two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Arenado connected with a two-run home run to center field on a 0-1 count and Gonzalez scored.
