The Miami Marlins crushed the Atlanta Braves 10-2 at Marlins Park on Saturday night. Dee Gordon collected his 200th base hit of the season.
Miami(77-84) gathered five runs in the first inning and never looked back. Justin Bour hit a sacrifice fly to left field for Gordon to score. Two batters later, Derek Dietrich blasted a three-run homer to right field on a 2-0 pitch as Christian Yelich and Brian Anderson scored. Miguel Rojas later tripled in A.J. Ellis with a shot into deep center.
In the second inning, Anderson drove in Yelich with a double to left field. Giancarlo Stanton added a run in the bottom of the fifth on a base hit to right field which scored Rojas. Yelich came to the plate next and singled home Gordon for an 8-0 lead.
Atlanta(71-90) got their only major rally in the seventh inning. Dansby Swanson knocked in Lane Adams with a single into right field. Two batters later, Rio Ruiz scored on a by Matt Adams to right.
The Fish expanded their margin to 10-2 during the eighth. Tyler Moore hit a single to left field and Anderson crossed the plate. The final run was scored by Dietrich as he was rewarded home on fielder obstruction.
