The Deerfield Beach Bucks host the Dillard Panthers at Butler Stadium on Friday night. Both schools won district titles last year.
Dillard(0-2) was at home for their first two games of the regular season. They were handled by Booker T. Washington 25-8 in the opener and fell to Western 20-16 in Week 2. The Panthers have a wide receiver core that includes Bryce Oliver, Joshua Freeman, Elijah Black and Dandre Jones. Running back Keyondre White will get most of the carries for Dillard.
Deerfield Beach(1-1) started the regular season on the road against two powerhouses from different states. They went to Miami and topped the defending FHSAA Class 6A state champion Carol City 6-2, then visited New Jersey the following week and lost to St. Joseph Regional 44-21. The Bucks have a talented backfield with running backs Jakari Norwood and Jaylan Knighton. Quarterback duties are handled by Kyle Kaplan and Tyler Herring. They look to connect with wide receivers Cornelius McCoy, Donte Banton and Deajeun McDougle.
