A new era began in the West Palm Beach market as the region increased to three sports talk format radio stations. It now consists of ESPN West Palm 106.3 WUUB-FM, 640 The Hurricane WMEN-AM and Sports Radio 1230 The Zone WBZT-AM.
640 The Hurricane dropped from a 0.5 to a 0.4 in the period. The station felt the impact of the New York Yankees as they try to make the playoffs. They continue to air syndicated shows from Fox Sports Radio and NBC Sports Radio Network.
Sports Radio 1230 The Zone flipped to a sports talk format on July 31. After three months with a 0.0, the station ended up with a 0.1 in August. WBZT-AM has gone with piping in CBS Sports Radio Network during weekdays and weekends along with the Miami Marlins Radio Network. The Jeff DeForest Show from Miami can be heard in morning drive.
