The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders host the Stranahan Dragons at Brian Piccolo Stadium on Monday night. This game was rescheduled from September 15 due to Hurricane Irma.
St. Thomas Aquinas(2-0) will be playing two contests in the next four days. They travel to Arizona and face Centennial on Friday night. The Raiders beat St. John Bosco in overtime 9-3 for their home opener and followed that with a 40-0 shutout victory over Piper.
Curt Casteel starts in the quarterback position for STA and has wide receivers Elijah Moore, Tavares Kelly, Teriq Philips and Cole Caterbone as targets downfield. Running backs Daniel Carter and Samuel Llewellyn will get their share of carries. The Raiders secondary is stacked with talent that includes Asante Samuel Jr., Al Blades Jr., Trenell Troutman and Adetutu Daranijo.
Stranahan(2-0) is off to their best start of the season since 2009 when they had Willie Tindal as their top player. The Dragons knocked off Blanche Ely 30-13 in their home opener and stopped Hallandale on Friday night. The main emphasis of their offense will be quarterback Marquel Dillard.
