The future owners of the Miami Marlins, associated with Derek Jeter, announced that they have let go of several consultants who work for current Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria and team president David Samson. The personnel released includes Andre Dawson, Tony Perez and Jeff Conine and Jack McKeon.
Dawson finished his major league career with the Marlins in 1996 and then joined the front office. Perez was part of the Marlins organization for almost 25 years. Conine, known as Mr. Marlin, played two stints with the Marlins franchise and helped the team win two World Series in 1997 and 2003. Jack McKeon managed the Marlins to the title in 2003 and moved back to the front office.
