Blanche Ely Blanks Dwyer

The Blanche Ely Tigers shut out the Dwyer Panthers 28-0 in a FHSAA Class 3M regional quarterfinal contest at Richard L. Williams Stadium in Pompano Beach on Monday night. The Panthers were unable to practice for two days last week because of Hurricane Nicole and therefore the game was switched from Friday night.
Blanche Ely(9-0) took advantage of being at home by scoring the first three touchdowns in the game during the first half for a 21-0 halftime lead. Dwyer(7-4) gave up another touchdown in the fourth quarter.
The Tigers will play a Soul Bowl rematch in Fort Lauderdale with their main local rivals the Dillard Panthers in a regional semifinal. They went on the road and defeated Dillard 9-7 at Otis Gray Jr. Memorial Stadium back on November 5.
