Miami Central Blows Out St. Brendan

     The Miami Central Rockets remained undefeated as they pounded the St. Brendan Sabres 60-0 on Friday night at Traz Powell Stadium in a FHSAA Class 2M regional quarterfinal contest. The Rockets, who won the FHSAA Class 5A state championship last year, will face either the Miami Northwestern Bulls or the Gulliver Prep Raiders in the second round next week. 

     Miami Central(11-0) compiled 46 points during the first quarter, six points in the second quarter and eight points in the third quarter. A running clock was used in the entire second half of play. St. Brendan(7-4), who participated in their first FHSAA Playoff game, launched their high school football program back in 2018.
