Booker T. Washington Stops Carol City

     The Booker T. Washington Tornadoes handled the Carol City Chiefs 27-13 in a FHSAA Class 2M regional quarterfinal game at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami on Thursday night. The Tornadoes topped the Chiefs during the regular season 26-6 back on September 23. Booker T. Washington(9-2) has won three straight contests while Carol City(5-6) lost their final three games of the 2022 campaign. 
     It was the first game of the FHSAA Playoffs played in South Florida. The Tornadoes will host either the Miami Norland Vikings or the Miami Jackson Generals next week in the second round. 
     Both teams were tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter. It became a 15-7 lead for Booker T. Washington over Carol City by halftime. The Tornadoes and the Chiefs scored touchdowns during the third quarter, but they both missed on their conversions and BTW was up 21-13.
