33 South Florida high schools advanced in the second round of the 2022 FHSAA Football Playoffs. There were 57 representatives from the tri-county area that headed into the postseason.
Palm Beach County went from 15 teams to seven. Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach Central, Atlantic and Boynton Beach won. Cardinal Newman, Benjamin and Pahokee had a bye week. Dwyer, Jupiter, Boca Raton, Santaluces, St. Andrew's, The King's Academy, Inlet Grove and Wellington lost.
Broward County dropped from 21 high schools to 12. St. Thomas Aquinas, American Heritage, Dillard, Blanche Ely, Cardinal Gibbons, Western, Calvary Christian Academy, Monarch, Marjory Stoneman Douglas and Miramar prevailed. Chaminade-Madonna and Avant Garde did not play. Plantation, Coconut Creek, Fort Lauderdale, Cypress Bay, South Broward, Somerset Academy, West Broward, Pembroke Pines Charter and Pine Crest were defeated.
Dade County fell from 21 teams to 14. Miami Central, Miami Northwestern, Columbus, Homestead, Booker T. Washington, Miami Norland, Miami Palmetto, Doral Academy, Dr. Krop and Southridge were victorious. Archbishop Carroll, Westminster Christian, Palmer Trinity and True North Academy were off due to a bye. Carol City, Miami Jackson, Miami, Belen Jesuit, Gulliver Prep, North Miami and St. Brendan failed to advance.
