St. Thomas Aquinas Takes Blanche Ely

     The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders downed the Blanche Ely Tigers 35-7 on Friday night at Brian Piccolo Stadium in a FHSAA Class 3M regional final. Both Broward County high schools were undefeated heading into this contest. 

     The Raiders are now 10-0 against the Tigers in their last 10 meetings since 2004. STA is expected to host a state semifinal contest next week. 

     Blanche Ely(10-1) made it 7-0 following a fumble recovery midway in the first quarter. The Raiders would tie it up 7-7 before the end of the first. St. Thomas Aquinas(12-0), who reached the state semifinal round for the ninth consecutive year, scored two touchdowns during the second quarter and two touchdowns in the third quarter to lead 35-7.
