St. Thomas Aquinas Dominates Coconut Creek

     The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders easily handled the Coconut Creek Cougars 59-14 in a FHSAA Class 3M regional quarterfinal game at Brian Piccolo Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. The Raiders will host either the Atlantic Eagles or the Plantation Colonels next week in a regional semifinal contest. 

     St. Thomas Aquinas(10-0) busted out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, but Coconut Creek(6-5) added seven points and were down 14-7. STA answered back with kickoff return for a touchdown and a 21-7 lead near the end of the first. The Raiders expanded their lead to 38-14 by halftime. The Cougars surrendered two more touchdowns in the third quarter and then a running clock was implemented.
