Kings Rule By Panthers

     The Florida Panthers fell to the Los Angeles Kings 5-4 on Saturday night at Crypto.com Arena. The Panthers will remain in Southern California and face the Anaheim Ducks tomorrow. 
      In the first period, Florida(6-5-1) scored with 9:00 remaining to make it 1-0. Ryan Lomberg collected his second tally of the year on an assist from Rudolfs Balcers.
     Both teams combined for four goals during the second period. Los Angeles(7-6-1) tied it 1-1 at the 9:27 mark. Kevin Fiala wheeled a centering pass from the right corner and Rasmus Kopari snapped a shot from the low slot by Sergei Bobrovsky for his first goal in 2022-23. 
     The Panthers answered back just 18 seconds later to reclaim the lead 2-1. Gustav Forsling carried the puck to the slot area and made a pass to his left. Carter Verhaeghe released a snap shot from the left circle past Jonathan Quck for his sixth goal this season. 
     The Kings picked up two goals by the end of the frame. Trevor Moore redirected an outside shot from the crease area with 9:41 to go and Viktor Arvidsson placed in a power-play goal with 26 seconds left.
     The Cats evened it up 3-3 at 1:18 of the third period as Eetu Luostarinen scored his fourth goal of the year. The Kings regained the lead 4-3 at the 2:40 mark when Blake Lizotte found the net for the fourth time this season. The Panthers matched their opponent again 4-4 at 5:04 as Verhaeghe chalked up his second goal of the contest and seventh goal of the season.
     Los Angeles made it 5-4 with 3:18 left in the third. Gabe Vilardi fired a shot from close range for the go-ahead goal.
