Miami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara has won the 2022 National League Cy Young Award. Alcantara won it unanimously as he received all 30 first place votes from the Baseball Writers Association of America. He becomes the first Marlins player to capture the Cy Young Award in franchise history.
Alcantara led Major League Baseball with six complete games. No other MLB team had six complete games in 2022. He led the National League with 228. 2 innings pitched. Alcantara had a 14-9 record with a 2.28 earned run average this season.
