The #2 American Heritage Patriots bashed the #6 Plantation Colonels 48-7 at Bill Laurie Stadium in Plantation on Friday night in a FHSAA Class 4A regional semifinal. It was a battle between two high schools from the same city.
American Heritage(6-5) blasted out to a 28-0 lead in the opening quarter. They added two more touchdowns for 41 unanswered points to begin the contest. Plantation(7-5) found the end zone late in the second quarter and trailed 41-7 at halftime.
A running clock was implemented during the second half. The Patriots were able to get one more touchdown in the fourth quarter for a 48-7 advantage.
