Heat Rocket By Hornets

      The Miami Heat powered by the Charlotte Hornets 126-108 at Kaseya Center on Friday night. The Heat played in their first NBA Cup game this year and were coming off a four-game road trip. 
      Miami(5-4) rushed out to a 33-21 lead and were up 53-33 after one quarter. The 53 points was the highest-scoring quarter for the Heat in their 38-season franchise history. It also was the second-highest amount scored by one team during the first quarter in NBA history. 
      Charlotte(3-6) got 18 consecutive points and trailed 64-56 with 3:52 left in the second quarter. They outscored Miami 36-19 in the second and were down 72-69 at halftime.
      The Hornets found themselves trailing 94-88 at the conclusion of the third quarter. The Heat pulled away during the final quarter. 
       Jaime Jaquez Jr. guided Miami with 18 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in the victory. Norman Powell was able to drop in 25 points. Kon Knueppel led Charlotte with a game-high 30 points.
