The #2 Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs shifted by the #7 Monsignor Pace Spartans 48-28 in the FHSAA Class 2A regional quarterfinals at Dr.Bud Tight Field in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. The venue has always been known as The Furnace because there were no night games due to no overhead lights.
Cardinal Gibbons(8-3) moved ahead 14-0 and had a 21-7 advantage after one quarter. The Chiefs expanded their lead to 35-7 early in the third quarter. Monsignor Pace(4-7) saw a 28-point deficit they could not overcome.
