Panthers Oust Kings

      The Florida Panthers marched by the Los Angeles Kings 5-2 at Crypto.com Arena on Thursday night. The Panthers continued their trip on the west coast.
      Florida(7-6-1) rocketed out to a 1-0 lead at the 2:06 mark of the first period. Jesper Boqvist passed from the right corner. Jeff Petry took a shot from the right point which was saved by Anton Forsberg. Sam Bennett lifted a wrist shot from the left of the crease for his third goal this season.
       Los Angeles(6-5-4) evened it up 1-1 at 9:23 of the period with the man advantage. Anze Kopitar, in his final NHL season, got his first tally this year on a deflection at the top of the crease following an Adrian Kempe shot from the top of the zone.
      The Kings made it 2-1 with 9:00 remaining in the first. Mikey Anderson connected a long lead pass from his own right circle. Corey Perry got the puck at the Cats blue line for a breakaway and placed in a wrist shot from the high slot pass Sergei Bobrovsky for his sixth goal with his new team.
      The Panthers tied it 2-2 with 2:30 to go. Brad Marchand stole the puck from the goalie behind the cage put in his eighth goal into an open net from the right goal line. Aaron Ekblad was credited with an assist on the play. 
       In the second period, the Cats regained the lead 3-2 with 8:15 left. Sam Reinhart pushed the puck ahead from the top right circle. Carter Verhaeghe centered it from the right goal line and Reinhart scored his seventh goal of the campaign on a backhand shot from the low slot. 
       It became 4-2 for Florida on a shorthanded goal at the 8:41 mark of the third period. Anton Lundell scored on a forehand shot from the slot area off a backhand lead pass by Eetu Luostarinen. 
       The Panthers expanded it to 5-2 with 7:24 to go in the third. Niko Mikkola stopped a clearing pass at the Kings blue line. Marchand chalked up his second goal of the contest and ninth goal this season on a snap shot from the inner right circle.
