The #1 Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs pushed by the #5 Royal Palm Beach Wildcats 28-27 on Thursday night in a Florida Invitational Tournament 7A-4A southern bracket regional final. It was a clash between the two best Palm Beach County high school football teams that did not make the FHSAA Playoffs.
Royal Palm Beach(7-5) was able to lead 14-7 by the end of the first quarter. Dr. Joaquin Garcia(9-3) tied it up 14-14 in the second quarter.
Both teams kept it close in the second half. The Bulldogs had a 28-27 advantage early in the fourth quarter.
