The Anaheim Ducks pulled away from the Florida Panthers 7-3 at Honda Center on Tuesday night. The Cats began a four-game road trip. The Ducks now have a four-game winning streak.
In the first period, Anaheim(8-3-1) mounted a 1-0 lead at 3:09. Leo Carlsson sent a long lead pass from his own zone. Cutter Gauthier sprinted into the Panthers zone on a breakaway and snapped a shot from the slot area past Sergei Bobrovsky for his eighth goal of the campaign.
Florida(6-6-1) answered back at 10:14 to tie it up 1-1. Jeff Petry cleared the puck out of his zone. Brad Marchand raced in from the red line on a breakaway and eventually lifted a wrist shot from the low slot by Lukas Dostal for his seventh goal of the season. He extended his point streak to five games.
The Ducks regained the lead 2-1 on the power play with 4:43 left in the first. Troy Terry zipped a cross-ice pass from the left side and Gauthier blasted a one-time slap shot from the right-circle dot for his second tally of the contest.
The Panthers evened it up 2-2 at the 5:21 mark of the second period. Gustav Forsling pushed the puck ahead and Mackie Samoskevich connected a lead pass from the neutral zone. Evan Rodrigues drove past the defense at the Ducks blue line and placed in a wrist shot from the slot for his third goal this season.
The Cats took a 3-2 lead on the man advantage with 9:23 remaining in the second. Sam Bennett backhanded a pass from the right corner. Rodrigues centered a pass from the left of the crease. Eetu Luostatinen tapped the puck in from the top of the crease for his second tally in 2025-26.
Gauthier picked up a hat trick for Anaheim on a power-play goal to make it 3-3 with 4:24 to go in the second. They moved ahead 4-3 with 2:41 left in the period on a goal by Nikita Nesterenko.
The Ducks increased it to 5-3 with 8:17 remaining in the third period. Mason McTavish released a shot from the right point which was saved. Jacob Trouba put the rebound in from the top of the crease.
Anaheim made it 7-3 on two more goals late in the third. Chris Kreider scored with 6:39 to go and Jansen Harkins scored with 5:13 left.
