The University of Miami Hurricanes knocked off the University of Pittsburgh Panthers 38-7 on Saturday at Acrisure Stadium. The Hurricanes will find out on December 7 if they are named one of 12 teams to participate in the 2025 College Football Playoffs.
Miami(10-2, 6-2) had a 3-0 lead with 4:31 left in the first quarter. Carter Davis was able to kick a 29-yard field goal.
In the second quarter, Pittsburgh((8-4, 6-2) moved ahead 7-3 at the 14:20 mark. Mason Heintschel tossed a six-yard touchdown pass to Justin Holmes on the right side.
The Hurricanes answered back on their next possession at 11:07 to make it 10-7. Malachi Toney connected a 10-yard touchdown pass to Elija Lofton on the right side of the end zone.
The Canes extended their lead to 17-7 with 1:55 left in the second. Carson Beck fired a 22-yard touchdown strike to Toney on the left sideline.
The U made it 24-7 at 9:29 of the third quarter. Mark Fletcher Jr. rushed up the middle from four yards away.
It became 31-7 for Miami with 4:28 remaining in the third. CharMar Brown caught a nine-yard touchdown reception on the left hash marks from Beck.
