Flyers Come Back On Panthers

      The Philadelphia Flyers overcame the Florida Panthers 4-2 on Wednesday night at Amerant Bank Arena. The Panthers began a six-game homestand.  
      Florida(12-10-1) ran out to a 1-0 lead at the 5:20 mark of the first period. Carter Verhaeghe pushed the puck from the left point. Sam Bennett carried the puck through the left circle and slide it across the crease. Brad Marchand put in a wrist shot from the right of the crease past Dan Vladar for his 14th goal of the season. 
      The Panthers expanded their lead to 2-0 at 5:16 of the second period. Aaron Ekblad advanced the puck from the top right circle. Bennett connected a cross-ice pass from the right of the crease and Verhaeghe collected his fourth goal of the campaign on a forehand shot from the low left circle. It was his second goal in the past two games. 
      Philadelphia(12-7-3) scored to make it 2-1 at the 7:56 mark of the second. Owen Tippett made a square pass from the left point and Jamie Drysdale fed the puck from the top of the zone. Emil Andrae chalked up his first tally of the year with a wrist shot from the left point by Sergei Bobrovsky. 
      The Flyers were able to tie it up 2-2 with 8:49 remaining in the period. Drysdale walked the blue line to the left point and zipped a cross-ice pass. Andrae took a slap shot from the top of the zone and Matvei Michkov got his sixth goal this season when he deflected it in from the low slot. 
      In the third period, Philadelphia picked up their first lead of the contest 3-2 with 45.2 seconds left. Tyson Forester snapped a shot from above the right circle for his eighth goal of the campaign. It was his fourth goal in the last four games. 
      It became 4-2 for the Flyers with 24.6 seconds to go in the third. Christian Dvorak released a shot from the high slot and it was redirected in by Sean Couturier in the crease area for his third goal in 2025-26.
