Cardinal Gibbons Outduels Miami Killian

      The #2 Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs outscored the #3 Miami Killian Cougars 38-35 in a FHSAA Class 2A regional semifinal on Friday night at Dr. Bud Tight Field in Fort Lauderdale. It might have been considered the most competitive South Florida postseason game in the FHSAA Playoffs tonight.

     Cardinal Gibbons(9-3) took a 7-0 lead and were up 14-6 after one quarter. The Chiefs extended it to 21-6, but McArthur(8-3) scored two touchdowns in the second quarter and were down 21-20 at halftime.

     The Chiefs would make it 28-20 early in the third quarter. The Cougars answered back and led 35-31 at the end of the third quarter. Cardinal Gibbons scored a go-ahead touchdown in the final quarter for the win.
