The Miami Heat walked by the Dallas Mavericks 106-102 on Monday night at Kaseya Center. The Heat have won five consecutive contests and eight of their last 10 games. It was just the Mavericks fifth road game this season.
It was a low-scoring first quarter as Miami(12-6) led 20-19. The Heat held off the Mavs and were up 52-44 at halftime.
Dallas(5-14) kept up with the pace and were down 80-72 at the conclusion of the third quarter. The Mavericks were able to tie it up 102-102 with 1:05 left in the fourth quarter. Tyler Herro, who played his first game this season, made a nine-foot shot with 41.2 seconds remaining for Miami to regain the lead 104-102.
Herro provided 24 points and seven rebounds for the Heat. Kel'el Ware compiled a double-double of 20 points and 18 rebounds. Bam Adebayo poured in 17 points while Jaime Jaquez Jr. dropped in 13 points.
P.J. Washington had a game-high 27 points for the Mavericks. Cooper Flagg scored 12 points and Klay Thompson pumped in 13 points.
