The New York Knicks outscored the Miami Heat 140-132 at Madison Square Garden on Friday night. The Heat will host the Knicks on Monday in a home-and-home series.
Miami(7-6) climbed out to a 35-32 advantage at the end of one quarter. New York(8-4) zipped by them to lead 78-68 at halftime.
The Heat were able to cut the lead and trailed 110-104 at the conclusion of the third quarter. The Knicks held their opponent off in the final quarter.
Karl-Anthony Towns composed a double-double for New York with 39 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Norman Powell helped Miami with 38 points in the defeat. Josh Hart contributed 10 assists and 12 rebounds.
