The Miami Dolphins lost to their cross-state opponent the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-20 at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday. The contest was rescheduled from early September due to the impact of Hurricane Irma.
The Bucs got out to a 3-0 lead on a 30-yard field goal by Patrick Murray at 7:16 of the first quarter. The Dolphins took a 7-3 lead when quarterback Jay Cutler threw a two-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jarvis Landry.
Tampa Bay(4-6) controlled the second quarter with 17 unanswered points. After Murray booted a 30-yard field goal one minute into the quarter, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick tossed a touchdown pass to tight end O.J. Howard from six yards away at 12:20. The Bucs added another touchdown with 50 seconds left as wide receiver DeSean Jackson caught a four-yard touchdown pass and Tampa Bay extended their margin to 20-7.
In the third quarter, Miami(4-6) got field goals of 26 yards and 31 yards from Cody Parkey and cut the deficit to 20-13.
The Dolphins tied the contest 20-20 with 3:09 to go in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Matt Moore connected a 61-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Kenny Stills.
The Buccaneers broke the tie with four seconds remaining as Murray nailed a 35-yard field goal. The Dolphins tried to lateral the ball several time on the ensuing kickoff and Adarius Glanton recovered the ball and ran it into the end zone.
