The Chaminade-Madonna Lions visit Clearwater Central Catholic on Friday night in a Class 3A state semifinal. The winner faces the victor between Oxbridge Academy and Florida State University for the Class 3A state championship on December 9 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
Chaminade-Madonna(9-2), who was a state finalist last year, enter this contest on an eight-game winning streak. The Lions have not given up a point during the FHSAA playoffs as they blanked American Heritage 38-0 in a regional semifinal and pounded Benjamin 56-0 last week in a regional final. They have outscored their last eight opponents 369-39 and averaged 46 points for along with four points against per game.
The Lions have a tremendous running back with Shaun Shivers who can score from any portion of the field. Wide receivers Xavier Williams, Marvin Alexander, Marlin Mayo and Logan Giordano are expected to make pass receptions from quarterback Daelen Menard.
