The Miami Heat ended the Boston Celtics 16-game winning streak with a 104-98 victory on Wednesday night at American Airlines Arena. The Heat will leave town to begin a four-game road trip after Thanksgiving Day. The Celtics entered the contest with the best record in the NBA.
Miami(8-9) jumped out to a 27-16 lead after one quarter and were up 54-41 at halftime. Boston(16-3) still trailed 79-63 after three quarters. The Celtics did outscore the Heat 35-25 in the final quarter, however they fell short.
Goran Dragic stepped up with a team-high 27 points for the Heat while Dion Waiters added 26 points along with six assists. Tyler Johnson put together 16 points and seven rebounds in the winning effort. The Celtics were led by Kyrie Irving who had 23 points and Jayson Tatum compiled 18 points along with eight rebounds. Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris both dropped in 14 points each.
