The Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers head south to West Palm Beach and challenge the Oxbridge Academy Thunderwolves on Friday night at William H. Pitt Stadium in a regional final. The Thunderwolves are listed in Region 2 instead of Region 4 like other South Florida high schools.
Melbourne Central Catholic(8-3) started the season winning four of their first five games and are currently on a four-game winning streak. They visited Orlando last week and beat The First Academy 55-21 in a regional semifinal. In the last four games, they have outscored their opponents 210-46. The Hustlers will lean on quarterback Joaquin Collazo to control the offense.
After a season opening loss by one point, Oxbridge Academy(8-1) has won eight consecutive games. They took Kings Academy 42-7 last week in a regional semifinal. The Thunderwolves have outscored their opponents 347-46 this season with 38 points for and five points against per game.
Look for the rushing attack to have an impact with running backs James Meeks and Luis Gonzalez along with quarterback Gio Richardson in the backfield. Richardson can throw anywhere on the field to wide receivers Keidron Smith, V'Lique Carter, Carlos Silencieux, De' John King and C.J. Smith.
