West Broward At St. Thomas Aquinas Preview

The three-time defending Class 7A state champion St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders host the West Broward Bobcats at Brian Piccolo Stadium on Friday night in a regional semifinal. The winner of this game will take on the winner of the Dwyer and Doral Academy contest next week.
West Broward(8-2) have some momentum as they enter this contest on a five-game winning streak. The Bobcats have outscored their opponents 204-76 during that stretch. They survived Forest Hill 31-26 in a regional quarterfinal last week. The Bobcats install a wing-t formation with running back Dominic Tianga as the focal point. Wide receivers Jason Montes, Eric Hoff and Jason O'Keefe will get inside shovel passes from Tianga.
St. Thomas Aquinas(9-2) wiped out South Miami 56-0 last week in a regional quarterfinal for their fifth shutout victory of the year. STA has not lost a home playoff game in Fort Lauderdale since 2003. The Raiders have outscored their opponents 312-86 this season. They have averaged 28 points for and seven points against per game.
The Raiders have plenty of talented wide receivers with Elijah Moore, Teriq Phillips, Taraves Kelly and Cole Caterbone that quarterback Curt Casteel can connect with on pass receptions. Running back Daniel Carter is expected to get the bulk of carries from the backfield. They have a strong secondary with Asante Samuel Jr., Trenell Troutman, Al Blades Jr. and Adetutu Daranijo.
