The Pahokee Blue Devils make a long trip up north and face the Madison County Cowboys in a Class 1A state semifinal on Friday night. The winner will play for the Class 1A state championship at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on December 7.
Pahokee(9-2) has won their last six playoff games and come into this contest on a three-game winning streak. After a 33-27 overtime win over Glades Central in the Muck Bowl, the Blue Devils beat Williston 41-17 in a regional semifinal and last week topped Frostproof 42-28 in a regional final. They have outscored opponents 267-206 this season.
The Blue Devils have an even attack with the run and the pass. Quarterback Deonte Nelson can hand the ball off to running backs Jaterie Washington and LeVonski Williams. Wide receivers Tyler Gilbert and Lonkevious McFadden will look to get open down the field.
