American Heritage At Chaminade-Madonna Preview

     The American Heritage Stallions make the trip from Delray Beach down the Florida Turnpike and take on the Chaminade-Madonna Lions at Vince Zappone Field in Hollywood on Friday afternoon in a Class 3A regional semifinal.
     American Heritage(5-4) returns to the FHSAA playoffs after missing the postseason last year. The Stallions benefited more than other schools with the new playoff point system that began in 2017 as they lost to playoff teams Belen Jesuit, Cardinal Gibbons, University School and Glades Central. The longest winning streak for the team this year was three games and they have outscored their last three opponents 91-21.
     The Stallions have a talented core of wide receivers which consists of John Dumore, Micangelo Joseph, Jamari Laster, Conner Hindsley and Luke Sharkley to make pass receptions from quarterback Ryan Rizk. Their primary rushing threat is running back Dallis Small.
     Chaminade-Madonna(7-3) made it to the Class 3A championship game in 2016 and lost to Trinity Christian Academy. After losing two of their first three games of the regular season against Miami Central and Plantation American Heritage, the Lions won their next six consecutive games. They  including victories over Piper, Blanche Ely, Booker T. Washington, Doral Academy, Flanagan and University School. They have averaged 45 points in their six games and outscored their opponents 275-39.
     The main emphasis of the Lions offense running back Shaun Shivers who can gain yardage deep into the secondary. Wide receivers Xavier Williams, Marvin Alexander, Marlin Mayo and Logan Giordano look to catch the ball downfield from quarterback Daelen Menard.
