The Oakland Raiders slipped by the Miami Dolphins 27-24 at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday night. It will be the last time that the Raiders play in Miami and billed being from Oakland. The club will move to Las Vegas for the 2019 season.
The Raiders picked up the only points of the first quarter on a 36-yard field goal by Giorgio Tavecchio with 7:35 to go.
The Dolphins took their only lead of the contest at the 10:45 mark of the second quarter. Jay Cutler tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Damien Williams and made it 6-3.
Oakland(4-5) bounced back to regain the lead with 3:35 left in the first half. Derek Carr rifled a 44-yard pass to Johnny Holton for a score.
Both teams exchanged field goals in the final minute of the second quarter. Cody Parkey made a 49-yard kick for the Fins with 37 seconds left and Tavecchio matched it with a 53-yard field goal with one second to go.
In the third quarter, the Raiders made it an 11-point margin of 20-9 at 9:30. Marshawn Lynch smashed through the middle with a 22-yard touchdown run
Miami(4-4) cut the gap to 20-16 at the 6:39 mark. Cutler connected a six-yard pass to Jarvis Landry.
Lynch scored his second touchdown run of the contest with 4:42 remaining in the fourth quarter. He again went up the middle and this time it was from three yards away.
Cutler collected his third touchdown pass with 1:36 left in the game. He threw a 15-yard pass to Julius Thomas. Kenyan Drake rushed in with a two-point conversion and closed the margin to 27-24.
