Hurricanes Jump On Virginia Tech

The Miami Hurricanes remained undefeated with a 28-10 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday night. The Hurricanes now have a stranglehold of the Coastal Division and look to be a part of the ACC championship game. They will host the Notre Dame Fighing Irish next week.
Miami(8-0, 6-0) showed their dominance in the first half. Quarterback Malik Rosier connected an eight-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Braxton Berrios in the right seam at 9:44 of the second quarter.
The Hurricanes extended their margin to 14-0 at the 7:18 mark. Running back Travis Homer, a Oxbridge Academy grad, rushed up the middle from 64 yards out for a score.
Virginia Tech(7-2, 3-2) got on the scoreboard before the end of the first half. Joey Slye kicked a 50-yard field goal with 2:09 remaining in the second.
The Hokies scored their only touchdown in the contest early in the second half. Quarterback Josh Jackson went into the right side of the line and scored from one yard away at 11:42 of the third quarter to make it 14-10. It would be the closest that Virginia Tech would come to take the lead.
The Canes came back on their next possession and scored at the 7:08 mark. Rosier threw a swing pass to the left side to tight end Christopher Herndon IV. He avoided one tackle, dashed down the left sideline and finished off a 43-yard play in the end zone.
In the fourth quarter, Miami expanded their gap to 28-10. Rosier sprinted up the middle of the field for a 13-yard touchdown run with 14:39 left.
