The defending FHSAA Class 4A state champion Cocoa Tigers host the University School Sharks in a state seminfinal on Friday night. The winner will play in the Class 4A state title contest at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on December 7.
University School(9-1) played their first two playoff games at home in Davie. The Sharks disposed of Glades Central 44-21 in the regional semifinal and edged Monsignor Pace 42-39 in a regional final last week. With the exception of a 2-0 forfeit win over Village Academy, they have outscored their 271-185 in their other nine games this season.
Running back Kenny McIntosh leads the Sharks offense with his rushing attack along with fellow running back Michael Hurt. They use both George Bubrick and Nick Vattiato at the quarterback position. Wide receivers Zay Flowers, Joshua Sanguinetti, Jordan Irizarry and Christian Wells will try to get open down the field.
