The Florida Panthers have assigned right wing Owen Tippett to the Missassauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League. The Panthers had to decide after Tippett played up to nine NHL games if they should send him back to his junior team.
Tippett cracked the lineup during the fifth game of the regular season in Philadelphia. He had one goal in seven games this season for the Panthers and played on either the third or fourth forward line. Florida selected him as their first-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft in Chicago.
