The Pahokee Blue Devils host the Frostproof Bulldogs on Friday night in a Class 1A regional final at Anquan Boldin Stadium. The Blue Devils look to win their sixth consecutive playoff game in the last two years.
It has been a good month for Frostproof(7-4) as they beat district rival Fort Meade 33-28 in their regular season finale and last week got a road win over Wildwood 59-38 in a regional semifinal. The Bulldogs will be led by quarterback T.J. Boyd. They do have running backs Mark Poe, Deonte McMahon and Jeremiah Salaam in the backfield.
After a shutout road loss to defending Class 4A champion Cocoa in Week 10, Pahokee(8-2) has bounced back to with two wins. The Blue Devils edged their local rival Glades Central 33-27 in overtime to capture their second straight Muck Bowl and topped Williston 41-17 in a regional semifinal last week. They have outscored their opponents 225-178 this season.
The Blue Devils have an more important emphasis on their rushing attack with running backs Jaterie Washington and LeVonski Williams. Wide receivers Tyler Gilbert and Lonkevious McFadden look to get open for quarterback Deonte Nelson.
