The Miami Heat returned to American Airlines Arena on Wednesday night and lost to the Washington Wizards 102-93. It was the first home game for the Heat in two weeks following a six-game road trip.
Washington(9-5) rolled out to a 30-19 lead after one quarter and were up 61-49 at halftime. Miami (6-8) stormed back as they outscored the Wizards 25-10 in the third quarter and led 74-71. The Wizards went on a 10-3 spurt midway through the fourth and pulled ahead 102-93.
Goran Dragic had a team-high 21 points for Miami while Dion Waiters added 19. Hassan Whiteside compiled a double-double with 14 points and 21 rebounds. John Wall led the Wizards with 27 points and seven assists. Bradley Beal put together 26 points and seven rebounds.
