FCC Approves Local Radio Merger

The Federal Communications Commission approved the merger of CBS Radio and Entercom Communications on Thursday. The shareholders of both companies will finalize the deal sometime next week.
The merger will have an impact on the sports talk radio format of two Miami radio stations. Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM is owned by CBS Radio while Sports Talk 790 The Ticket is owned by Entercom Communications. The only personnel decision that has been made so far is that Keriann Worley has been elevated from CBS Radio Miami Vice President and Director of Sales to Entercom Miami Senior Vice President and Market Manager.
